Becoming │The Balance Bringer…it’s been a long time in the making. A very long time.
I can still recall, with considerable clarity, the moment I knew what the title of this YA fantasy would be. It was 2010. I was driving down a lone stretch of highway through the California desert. It was night, and it was dark. I sat alone in the car, making the drive home after dropping my kids off at my mom’s. My mind wandered, working through bits and pieces of story and suddenly I had my title. I’ve tried on various other titles throughout the years, but none have fit or felt as right as this one.
Finally being able to share this story and all the work that has gone into the full package is…well…overwhelming, thrilling, and scary! I’m itchy and jittery thinking about it.
Kudos to Carrie Osborne for capturing the Bringer Triune symbol and etching magnificent life into the art. Same goes to Melinda VanLone of Book Cover Corner for taking everything a step farther and pulling the entire vision together. Love you ladies!
And now, the moment this entire post is all about…the cover reveal!
This is the first book kicking off The Balance Bringer Chronicles. A story about love and blood and sisterhood. A story about finding the strength within yourself to be who you were meant to be, and who you need to be. And of course there is romance. It’s high school, of course hormones have to get involved.
What can you expect from the first book? Well…here is what the back blur has to say:
Ana’s world is falling apart. What she thought were dreams start entering her waking life. Eerie shadows hunt her. Her dream guy becomes reality. And strange new abilities begin developing. Ana is becoming something other.
She is determined to find answers, but where to turn? Her mom and best friend are keeping secrets. Her older sister is dead and exists only in her dreams. And her younger sister thinks they are goddesses.
Above all else, dark forces will stop at nothing to crush Ana – to keep her from restoring balance. To keep her from… becoming.
Is love and blood and sisterhood enough to stop the dark secrets and power from destroying her?
Look for the book to hit the shelves sometime next week. Would you like to be one of the first to leave an honest review? Drop me a line (subject *Bringer Review*)

The following weekend (YES, the day before Easter, I will be in Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood for The Novel Experience. All readers are welcome. A large number of authors are expected at this event, as well. Come. Have fun!
