I’ve been a Zombie Mom lately. Why, you say? Writing work hours for one, the craziness with the family is another, and on top of it all…I got SICK! Seriously, who can afford to get sick these days? But I did. You’ll be happy to know the doctor ruled out the zombie eating flesh virus. Stress has run me down, though. Verdict, I need to be a good girl and make a few adjustments in order for my body to get better.
What makes a Zombie Mom?
Webster Dictionary defines mother and zombie as follows:
moth·er1 [muhth-er] Show IPA noun
1. a female parent.
2. ( often initial capital letter ) one’s female parent.
zom·bie [zom-bee] Show IPA noun Informal.
1. a person whose behavior or responses are wooden, listless, or seemingly rote; automaton.
The other day I was experiencing a little trouble keeping my head up during our homework session when I noticed how ingenious my daughter was. See what she’s done there…
From now on I will consider tying myself to the chair. Next step, tape for the eyelids. 😉 That’s how a Zombie Mom must roll.
But wait! I got something better for you than this. Wait for it. What’s the word from Thor?
ooh! Did the mighty Thor fumble? Heaven’s noooo!
That must have been after his crazy, fun stay at Tameri’s. Drunk on her essence!
What luck, eh? Thor burst in on our WANA princess right in time to celebrate both Tameri’s birthday and Easter with her. Do you think they found fun? Do you think they found trouble? I think they found a little of both. Do you think Thor enjoyed all the pink and sparkles? Just look at the scowl on Thor’s face and I think you’ll find your answer. 😀 He doesn’t look like a very good sport, despite the fact he surprised her for her birthday. What’s up Thor?
Power on like Mjölnir to Tameri Ethertan’s blog to see the 252 pictures she took during his stay and read all about the insane things they did. You don’t want to miss this.
Thor’s Ultimate Birthday Surprise and Easter Takeover!
Is never too late to join in the fun. Just leave a note here or on Thor’s tour page if you’d like to participate and we’ll get you added to his itinerary.
Also, it’s not to late to be entered for your chance to win a copy of Meg Cabot’s take on the Hades and Persephone’s tale. Sign up to follow this new blog location and comment any time before midnight, tonight – Friday April 5th, and you’ll be entered to win a hard copy of her book Abandon.

Thanks for stopping by! I truly appreciate your support. Until next time, au revoir.
I just love Thor, even when he fumbles! I hope your weekend is better than the zombie week you just had. Take care of yourself, girl!
Oh gosh. Me too, Diana. I’m sick of being sick. It only takes one day to be soo done with that feeling. Thor is fun! He has instructed his minions to start raising funds for his big farewell trip at the end of all this. What do you suppose that will be? 😉
That was fun to watch!!!
Isn’t it, though? We can all get a good healthy laugh out of a harmless fumble. Mjölnir had a different plan than Chris, and the two were not meshing well. LOL.
Haha! That’s what happens when you have a big hammer! Lovely to see my boy again!
Your boy is getting around. He still has a trip to make back over the pond. Next up, though, Lynn Kelley!
It never occurred to me that the best way to ensure my butt stays in the chair during writing time is to tie myself into place. Hope you feel better, soon, Debra.
Leave it to a seven-year-old to figure these things out for us. Those young minds are so unencumbered. 😉 Thanks for the well wishes and for stopping by, Pat.
That Monkey, she has the best ideas! Okay, that clip of Thor missing the hammer is so funny. I love how Captain America just keeps going.
Thank you SO much for letting me host Thor! It was out of this world awesome. We had a blast even though he’s scowling, he had fun. The party hat and sign were his idea, don’t let him think they weren’t.
Thanks again and FEEL BETTER SOON!! Lots of get well hugs coming your way.
Aw, thank you, hon! I’m glad you two had fun together.
Isn’t that gif a hoot? I just love it! My Monkey is also a hoot. She does the craziest things.
I have plenty of zombie days, so I know how you feel. I’ll have to try tying myself in the chair, too. Whatever works, let’s go for it! I’m going to Tameri’s blog right now to check out her visit with Thor. Love his party hat! Feel better, Debra.
As long as the drugs are in my system I seem to be good. It’s like a switch when they wear off. It’s the weirdest thing. Thanks so much, Lynn. Can’t wait to see what you guys do on his visit. Maybe some kid fun?
I laughed out loud when I saw Monkey’s picture. What a GREAT idea! I could use something like that right now.
I’m with everyone else in hoping you feel better soon. Is the husband better and back to work now?
Okay, time for me to buzz on over to YouTube. I’ve watched dozens of Friends and Supernatural bloopers there, but never thought of looking up The Avengers. And having seen it either 9 or 10 times now (seriously), I think I need to see the extras. 🙂
Hope you enjoyed yourself on youtube. There is a lot of great stuff out there. You just need to know how to search for it. I seriously lucked out with this one. 😀
I’m so sorry to hear that you’re unwell. I hear ya on feeling like a zombie Debra. Right there with ya on that one. I’m enjoying Thor’s adventures. Can’t wait for his next stop. Hope you feel better soon! 🙂
Thanks, Karen. I seem to be getting better in spite of myself. Go figure. Not getting much work done, though. That always irritates me to no end. I will catch up some how! 🙂 I hope you had a fabulous weekend. Thank you for stopping by my new place.
Some days the fumbles and the zombie moments are all that happen. But cheer up, they make a great post! And Thor will grumble but he’ll get over his fumble. Um, if Monkey has to tie herself to her chair, does that mean she’s a zombie, too? Ack! Hope you have a good witch doctor to cure all that zombieitis! Feel better soon, zombie mom!
You bring up a good question. I think Monkey was simply being silly. That’s how she rolls. If it’s crazy and rather odd, she’ll do it. She always keeps me guessing. Thanks for stopping by, Lynette.
Wonderful post, Debra!
