This blog likes to travel! Unfortunately, I’m not the one who gets to enjoy all the fabulous sites and hospitality. Thor is taking the world by storm (pun intended). Can you tell me what Tinker Bell, hockey and snow have in common with Thor? Head on over to Louise Behiel’s blog to find out.
Thor Comes Calling to Calgary
Did you pop over? Did Thor behave himself? If you missed any of his previous escapades you can catch up on everything Thor has done to date on his home page. Link at the top of the page. (I’m currently experiencing problems with updating the map. Laird assures me we won’t have any issues on the new site. WP doesn’t play nice with the map host. 🙁 )
For the past several weeks our little plastic Norse god has enjoyed multiple stops throughout Canada. This last week the weather turned. We have rain, the east coast is hunkered down in preparation for snowfall and our northern neighbor has already enjoyed a winter wonderland from their windows. Wait, it’s fall. Is Jack Frost confused? Maybe he’s toying with us. Or is it something else?
Who here loves the winter? I’m a winter jacket and boots girl myself.
I don’t have the thick blood for it, but it sure is pretty. Enjoy this heavenly ice escape…If you’d like to see the full video with Lindsey Stirling as posted on my blog back on May 16th, you can find it here: The Push and Pull of Places of Energy. It’s a breathtaking video.
Happy weekend readers!

I can hardly wait to meet Thor in person. Hopefully, since he likes snow so much, we’ll have plenty by the time he arrives. Do I love winter? Does Miss Piggy love Kermit? Does Mr. Whipple love Charmin? Does Santa love cookies and milk? 🙂
Yup. But I only love winter if if we get lots of snow. I like the cooler weather anyway, but snow makes it perfect. 🙂
I love the chilly fall seasons the best. If we received an annual snow fall I think I’d want to move. I may do a lot of things, shoveling snow is not one of them. I wouldn’t mind visiting it though.
LOL…I don’t shovel snow either. I might SWEEP it off the porch, but that’s about as far as it goes. 🙂
Reblogged this on filmcamera999.
Debra, I love those ice pictures. They’re beautiful to look at, but I sure wouldn’t want to stay at one of those ice hotels. How about you? 🙂 Now, I’m off to see what Thor is up to…
I know, right? Ever time I see a film or picture of an ice hotel my body breaks out in goose bumps. Too cold! I like things at a comfortable temp. I’m a wimp when it comes to those things.
the ice caves are beautiful in a video….LOL. Thor is gone, so maybe our weather will smarten up now. Thanks for a fun time Debra. I’ve never entertained a God before….LOL
I really do hope your weather makes a turn for the better. Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I’m glad you had a fun time. Thor sure is getting off to a good start. Thank you for hosting him, Louise. It was an honor having you participate.
Hmm… I can see. from reading Louisa’s blog, that Thor’s visit here will quite an adventure. I certainly hope he behaves himself!
The ice castle was fascinating. But I wouldn’t do well in a winter wonderland like that. I am definitely NOT a “winter jacket and boots” girl. I’m more a “kick up the heater on high then let me curl up in a blanket and hibernate until spring” girl. LOL
What a lovely photo, has it been touched up? I remain intrigued as to why Thor loves snow. Is he not that Norse God who loves thunder and lightening?
Cheers, loved the post!
I like snow when I am snug in my house, bundled up and watching it softly drift down with a mug of hot chocolate or chai. To be properly enjoyed, snow must persist long enough to gaze at dreamily, allow the dogs to play in it, and then promptly melt away by Monday morning so I don’t have to deal with it on the drive to work. In Seattle, this sometimes happens, others I am trapped by the darn white stuff.
I am so sorry I missed this and your May post. The ice caves are stunning. But the chill is a little more than I’d like. I’m with Serena, I love to look at pristine snowfall, but not so enamored of shoveling or driving through it. BTW, I am loving following Thor on his travels!

Thor vs. the “God Butcher” – that’s just crazy! I do not approve of the enemy’s name. Just saying. 😉
