Advances in technology are often inspired by things brought to us first through books, movies, and television shows. It has been the case for many years – since the first true science fiction stories hit the shelves. It’s still true today. Let me introduce you to one of the latest innovations to come our way…
What do you think? Does that look like the kind of bike you’d like to take for a ride around your block? Isn’t it fun watching things from the big screen come to life?
~oOo~
Hi Debra, on my computer it doesn’t show the whole photo, and it doesn’t appear to be a video. Is there anything wrong with the picture?
Ok, Debra, you can delete my post. the video just came to life. thanks.
Glad it started working for you Richard. 🙂
I don’t really do bikes, but it looks like the perfect spinner for my fun workout idea of cardioke, cardio exercise and karaoke at the same time. 🙂
Ooh… I LOVE that! If you launch a program, I’m in. 😉
I can just picture a class full of Tron spinners now. That would be something! 😀
How freaking awesome?! I’d be scared to death to ride it though. Face forward like that…sure looks like a good way to lose your head lol. But still, fun fun fun!
It actually looks easier than a regular motorcycle to me. But I could be wrong. I mean, the wheels are much wider. I don’t know that your head is in any more danger then on a normal motorcycle. I don’t know about the gear shifting though. I think my M-class license expired. I’d have to get it renewed. No problemo.
Looks a bit too dangerous for me and my minimal bike experience, but wow. Pretty impressive!
impressive – even though i’v e never been on a bike. LOL
I thought it was pretty impressive as well. Can you just picture a small pack of these flying down the freeway?
Yes. And pretty! LOL.
I want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know, right? I can totally see you taking off on one! It would have to be a vlog for sure!
Definitely!
Gotta say, I loved Tron, then and now! Oh yeah, had a serious crush on Bruce Boxleitner back in the day. So when he came to Emerald City Comicon, well, I stood in line, got his autograph and then got teased by Hub for being mostly tongue-tied meeting my girlish crush. So worth it though!
Oh, I’m totally the type to get tongue-tied. I feel you. First time I saw the movie was in an older theater. They had the long drapes down the side walls. Something went crazy with the air during the movie and those drapes started blowing. It was like an extreme early version of 4D viewing. LOL They wanted us to feel like we were riding beside them on those cycles. 😀
It looks cool, but I can’t imagine riding one. It looks like the rider is basically lying on his stomach and I just can’t imagine that he would have as much control in an emergency as he would were he sitting up. Of course bikes scare me a little anyway. I did like the scooter though, lol. And the three wheeler. 🙂
They call that a crotch rocket. Built for high speed. Just what you are looking for. I know it! LOL. You’d be surprised how much control you have. The center of gravity is reduced by the body angled like that. Makes turning and pulling out of a bad turn probably easier. When I first started learning how to ride my bike years ago that was one of the first things I had to overcome, the tendency to lean the wrong way when turning. You want to lean into the turn. When on a bike like this, that’s a much more secure feeling. Sitting up you’re left exposed and sometimes you feel like you could tip right off. Of course, that was my beginner’s fear talking.
Beginner’s fear? Ha-ha. LOLOL!!! I’d actually have to BEGIN before you could call it that. Mine is more like the I’m-a-coward-so-I-won’t-even-start kind of a fear. 🙂
Holy smokes, TRON! This is all too amazing!
I heard it was Star Trek that inspired cell phones. This should be easy compared to that leap, right?
That’s fantastic. Don’t think I would ride one, but it looks very cool. Life imitating art, right?
It does look cool, doesn’t it? I’m probably done with the bikes too. But I can appreciate them.
This was amazing! Price isn’t as bad as I expected, either. I’d never shell out $55,000 for a bike, but I honestly know folks that do. What a piece of news! 🙂
Isn’t this something! I know people who will spend that kind of money on a bike, no problem. Look at Harley Davidson. Thanks for stopping by Laura.
Always a pleasure! 🙂
