The Vampire Dairies Itch

What day is it?

Sorry. I have the tune to Adventure Time stuck in my head as I write this. The show is a daily occurrence in my house. You don’t need to feel sorry for me. It feeds my crazy, which can only help my writing in the long run, right? *Insert insane laugh here*

But seriously, young adult fans, Vampire Diary, and Ian Somerhalder fans alike should all be acutely aware of the show’s much-anticipated return to television tonight. You’ve waited all summer long for more Ian Somerhalder to find out what’s going to happen next. Tonight, the wait is finally over.

How did we leave things last season? Well, if you watch the show, you probably remember very well. If you don’t watch the show or are still catching up, I don’t want to spoil it for you. But, a regular viewer or not, you must have an opinion on the brothers, be it based simply on their appearance, or something deeper. So… Stefan fans to the left side of the room, and Damon fans to the right. Show of hands, who thinks Elena can continue to waltz down the middle? Yeah, it gets old – for everyone involved.

Whether you love the good guy gone bad, our boy Stefan, or the tall dark demon, Damon, who’s always been honest with his true self and nature, today you can put yourself beside the brother of your choice. Or don’t. Choose, I mean. Take them both.

Now fess up and vote for your preferred eye candy…

Oh yeah, surprised you with the unsuspecting man hunk, Elijah. You have to admit, there were a few moments between Elijah and Elena that left you wondering. Of course, your choices don’t stop there. Maybe you’ve been waiting for Elena to turn the entire time, or favor Caroline. Come on, vote!

A little tease to wet your appetite for the big event? You can find the televised teaser on YouTube, or see it on television, hyping you up all the time. This one is the exclusive from Comic Con. I think you’ll like it. It’s slightly longer. And, yeah, it gets you excited for the season premier.

Are you a Vampire Diaries Junkie? Will you tune in for the season four premier? Or are you playing catch up via Netflix? Harbor any thoughts on Beauty and the Beast? Will you stay tuned and check it out?

Reminders: It’s never too late to jump on the Thor Tour.  All you need to do is drop me a line. Thor has his own page now, by which you can track his progress, catch up on older updates, or just check out fun trivia, videos, and pictures that will be added to on a regular basis. Check it out! Find the link at the top of the page. We should be hearing from our guy real soon. If we don’t, we’ll have to start worrying that he’s stopped off at a tavern somewhere and got aught up with the company. Scandalous!

Also, this blog will be relocating to a self-hosted site at some point come the beginning of November. I hope you’ll follow us to the new digs. My fabulous designer, Laird Sapir, and I have some pretty amazing ideas (I think) and I hope you’ll enjoy what we create there.

Oh, I’ll be watching. Either tonight, or tomorrow on Hulu. It will depend on how quickly I’m ready to be watching something on Thursdays again. 🙂

You are SO mean, Debra! Damon, Stephan…AND Elijah? And only ONE vote. Awwwwww. I’m choosing all three. That would fit in nicely with my dreams of having multiple husbands via a quick conversion to the Morman way of life. 🙂

I have to choose one, hmm? I’m gonna see if I can cheat by refreshing the page a couple more times. If not, Damon wins. 🙂

Log on from multiple computers. 😉 Or flip a coin. That can be your last resort. Sorry I only gave you one vote. Hmm. I forgot to vote. I better do that. I don’t know why, but all the sudden I got the song “Raining Men” stuck in my head while I’m writing this. LOL.

I’ve never heard that song…but I’m thinking I could use me a little rain like that right now. 🙂

    Elijah all the way.

    • Debra KristiDebra Kristi

I had a feeling you might pick Elijah. I pay attention. 😉

      • EmmaEmma

I know you do, Debra 🙂

    • Debra KristiDebra Kristi

Well, Thor… I mean Chris, was never very good about the mono a mono thing. Or am I confusing him with Thor again? Anyway, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander. That’s what I figure. 😀

      • tedstrutztedstrutz

I’m buying a Thor costume and heading you way…

Well, I don’t watch the show (I know, gasp!), but that Ian is one heck of an attractive guy. If there wasn’t so much blood and other actors getting in the way, I’d watch the show just for him!

Loved the clip, though. It’s got me intrigued.

    • Debra KristiDebra Kristi

Yes, she says with a sigh. Ian is reason enough to watch the show. 😀 Big grins. LOL. I didn’t know blood made you squimish. But I don’t think of The Vampire Dairies as bloody. Not like True Blood. Nope. It’s tamed down for teen.

I strayed away last season, but I’ve kept my eye on it. For me, it’s a little bit like watching a train wreck–so hard to look away. Your poll is so mean! I can’t believe you’re gonna make me choose! Oh, ick, I might be channeling Elena a little bit. Eeek!

Hey, if Thor wants to come to Texas, I’d love to have him. 🙂

    • Debra KristiDebra Kristi

I know how you feel. I’ve done the same thing with this show and others. Ian always draws me back to VD. I know, I am a meanie. Take the advise I gave Kristy, log on from multiple computers to vote. LOL. Who did you end up picking?

Thor would love to visit you in Texas! He was bummed because his Texas stop got cancelled when the blogger moved, changing his destination. He was looking forward to seeing the Lone-Star State. Of course, now he gets another cool visit added to the trip. I’ll contact you and collect your information.

Damon won out. He really is honest with himself, even if he’s a butthead about it. Stephan tends to feel sorry for himself. I almost voted for Caroline just because she grew dramatically as a character when she became a vampire. I might just vote for her from my phone. LOL.

I can’t wait to show Thor around! I’m sure my Avengers-loving daughter will help. 😉

I’m catching up on this show via Netflix – I’m on episode 2 (I know, I know). Looking forward to watching some this weekend!

    • Debra KristiDebra Kristi

Of which season? Season one? You have a long way to go! But that’s the great thing about Netflix, you can fly through the episodes back to back. You’ll cover the distance in no time. I kid myself that I’m multitasking, watching Haven that way while I write. But my writing suffers for it.

  6. Coleen PatrickColeen Patrick

I watch it!! Ian is the big draw for me.:)

    • Debra KristiDebra Kristi

      I think he’s a big draw for a lot of people. 😀

I haven’t gotten into vampire shows as yet, but I did audition for one. Totally creepy experience, in a fun and adventurous way. 🙂 Plot and characters are the big draw for me, and this one sounds like it’s strong in both. I’ll let you know what I think!

    • Debra KristiDebra Kristi

Now you have me curious as to which show you may have auditioned for. Hmmm. 😀 This is a fun show, for those that enjoy a little vampire fun. Thankfully, the script writers aren’t following the books. At least, I’m thankful. I think the show is much less predicable this way and they’ve made it much more rich in character and plot.

I am SO over Damon! *holds hands up, palms out* I know, according to the poll, and most of the internet, I’m in the minority. But seriously, I don’t get his appeal. I agree he’s attractive, but as a character… he never admits he’s wrong, doesn’t take responsibility, drinks ALL the time…
Now I know how Team Jacob fans feel. 😉

    • Debra KristiDebra Kristi

I absolutely LOVE the visual you just sent me. 😀 I’m sorry you feel like you’re in the minority right now. You are not wrong, Damon is flawed. Very much so. They all are. I don’t know that I particularly love any one of them. But Damon’s thing, it’s all an act to hide the real him.

  9. Louise BehielLouise Behiel

i’m late replying…my bad. and since I don’t know any of those hunks, I didn’t vote. LOL have a great week.

    • Debra KristiDebra Kristi

Thanks, Louise. No worries. I’m late on everything lately. Glad you could stop by!

  10. Karen RoughtKaren Rought

Debra, I am officially all caught up with The Vampire Diaries. And my vote undoubtedly goes to Damon. I mean…COME ON. Damon all the way. Not only is he suuuuper hot, but I just really like his personality and how he is so much more than you originally think he is. Love it! (also, I just really love this show. It’s waaay better than I ever thought it could be.)

    • Debra KristiDebra Kristi

RIGHT! He’s the onion. He has so many hidden layers, and you need to peel them back, one by one, to see the many different sides to him. Expose all the parts he keeps hidden. I love that. He’s very complex. Stefan puts it all out there for us to see. He’s been an open book, up until recently. Welcome to the here and now with VD. 😀

  11. Reetta RaitanenReetta Raitanen

I’m a True Blood girl but still not caught up with the latest season. Ian Somerhalder is real eyecandy, and I’d like to jump the Vampire Diaries boat. Which should I start with, the books or the TV series? How much do they differ?

    • Debra KristiDebra Kristi

Personally, After the first or second book I was disappointed. But that’s just my opinion, you may not feel the same way. I would start with the show. I heard the books got better, but they just got sooo out there I don’t think I can ever go back. They are very different, at least, so far.
