Ode to Pam De Beaufort and True Blood : Immortal Monday

If you’re a fan of the Sookie books or the HBO series, True Blood, you get a slightly different Pam in either one. But one thing that  stays true is her dark wit. She’s anything but sweet. She’s tough and loyal to the end. And I adore her!

In honor of Pam and her maker I’m sharing a short. One that even those who don’t watch the show may enjoy. Who doesn’t get a kick out of a little comical dancing?

I wanted to discuss this previous season and get your thoughts, but I’ve been buried with work. Too buried to write the post I want to write, in a timely manner. These last thirteen episodes have my attention waning. The season highlight for me was Hoyt’s farewell. Cheers, HBO. Well done. The low – the efreet storyline. You know we’re not against some good demon intrigue, but that was ridiculous.

Watch the show? Share your favorite highs and lows.

Out of the mouth of Pam:

  1. Just because we drank a bitch together does not make us Oprah and Gayle.
  2. There’s vampire in your cleavage.
  3. Blah, blah, Vampire Emergency, Blah.
  4. I’m wearing a Walmart sweat suit for y’all — if that’s not a demonstration of team spirit, I don’t know what is.
  5. Did I miss something? Are we girls now? Did we join a book club and read some queer chick lit memoir and now are bound together by estrogen and sisterhood or some other feminist drivel?

Didn’t get enough Pam? How about some dirty fighting? It’s the only way, using everything at your disposal.

Pam has an impeccable look. She knows how to pull herself together. She struts her stuff in everything from designer suits, all the way to the patent leather. But it’s her flawless hair and makeup that suits her so perfectly. I enjoy checking in with Goldie Starling. She has a wonderful tutorial on Pam’s make up, if you’re interested. For today’s post I’m sharing her True Blood inspired Bon Temp’s swamp look. I love this look. Hope you enjoy!

In Thor news: He should touch down in England any time now, if he hasn’t already. Hopefully we will be hearing from him soon. If you’d like to join in on the Thor tour, drop me a line or leave a comment. 🙂

I’ve never seen this show before, or read any of the books. I watch about 1 hour of tv a day, and right now, I’m in the middle of Dollhouse. LOL… and we won’t even talk about my to-be-read list. I’m thinking my job will be ending by Christmas, and that will change things a bit for me. Then there should be plenty of time to write, blog, read, watch… I’ll be so efficient I won’t know what to do. (And if you believe THAT, you may be crazier than I am!) 😀

Btw, if Thor would like to visit , he is more than welcome. I live near the town where Neil Armstrong grew up. I could show him the Moon… and even buy him a bag of freeze-dried ice cream! You think he’d like that?

I wasn’t buying any of it. LOL. You crack me up, Laura! I was amazed how quickly my time was sucked up when I stopped working. And then I had kids. No time. All gone. I’ve popped by your blog on a number of occasions. Will you be starting up again? Thor would love to swing by. I send you a message so we can add you to the list.

LOL… Can’t get anything past you!

Yea… going to make a start again. I just put too much pressure on in the very beginning while I was still trying to learn about all this new social media stuff, and got bogged down. I will blog once a week for now.

Will be great to have Thor stop by. (He isn’t allergic to cats, is he? Any special dietary requirements?) You can reach me through my email, or through twitter. 🙂

Pam rocks. She is one of the best characters in True Blood. I have to say that my favorite quote from her is the one where she says: “F*** Sookie and her precious fairy va**na”. Jealousy issues 😛 But I would feel like that too if Eric ditched me after hundreds years for Sookie.

LOL! That is a great one. I swayed back and forth on whether I should post it or not because of the content. I even had a YouTube clip. Haha Yes, but you know it isn’t just Sookie. It’s the smell of her fairy blood. As Sookie says, “I’m a fairy? How lame is that!” 😀 Conflict good! Are you up to speed on the episodes? Did you catch when Jason was at Sookie’s and he peeked under the teddy bear’s dress? That is so Jason. I laughed SO hard.

I don’t have HBO at home, but based on these lines, I’m already a Pam fan 🙂 Seriously, I need to find the DVDs now. Voted for the first line, btw.

Great line. She has so many it’s hard to choose. So many of them involve some not so pretty word. :O I had to select carefully. My husband calls the show vampire porn. LOL. They do get it on – a lot. The books are written that way though.

Pam is one of the best characters on True Blood. I loved when they went back to how she became a vampire and met Eric this season. Not much else about season five impressed me.

I’ve never seen the show, but it looks interesting. Hopefully the same can still be said of the Vampire Diaries. Still really disgusted with the season finale this spring. 🙁

It has a lot going on. Maybe a little too much at times. But it has it’s redeeming moments. 😀 Sorry about VD. It will be interesting to see where they go with it. Like I said, books – show – etc.

Someday, if I ever decide to spring for HBO, I might check it out. As for TVD…the Breaking Dawn part 1 rip off was bad enough…but killing Alaric off…I’m so not into killing off main characters. 🙂

Love True Blood. Pam’s sarcasm is a constant delight. She’s the perfect child of Eric. 🙂

Yes she is the perfect child of Eric. And the only. She’s so rotten and yet – I can’t help but adore her. 😀
