A Doctor And a Hammer to the Head

Nothing pulls me free from two weeks of migraine pain better than a swift smack from Thor’s hammer.

(Excuse me if this posts rambles a bit. It’s coming right off the cuff, with the kids at my side, begging for attention.)

There I was, minding my own business, curled up in my own little misery with my pillow, when―BAM!

To tell you the truth, I had been unable to properly process any thoughts or follow through with even the simplest of tasks. I pushed my way through the required end-of-school activities, anxious to return to the comfort of my bed. If I wasn’t sleeping, I was mindlessly watching episodes of Doctor Who.

Who doesn’t love Doctor Who? Honestly, in the beginning I had trouble getting past his first transformation (in the the reboot series), but now David Tennant is my favorite Doctor. I think the Time Lord deserves his own Immortal Monday post. What do you think? Should it be some day soon?

Anyway, it was Matt Smith (The Eleventh Doctor), who popped up on my screen yesterday to say…

Yep! There was mail waiting for me on my computer. Ted Strutz published his piece about Thor’s visit. I had to see it for myself. Our little plastic god has made many stops, but this was to be his first male host. And what fun I had reading it. I invite you all to zip over to the marvelous TedBook blog for Ted’s very entertaining post about the arrival of our little plastic Norse god.

Oh, no! You too? I’ve had the worst headache for three weeks. I’m miserable. Don’t want to read, write, watch tv, or do much of anything. And I’m starting to feel like I’ve lost my mind.

I hope you’re feeling better! That really stinks. Here’s to better days! 🙂

Be sure to stay tuned to the next installment of Thor’s Adventures in the Great Pacific Northwest! You had better be careful… Thor may become jealous of the Dr. It seems you have David Tennant Eye Candy plastered on your blog for awhile. Chris won’t like that… you don’t want a Mjölnir Headache!

I don’t envy you at all. I used to get them all the time, but after my youngest was born, I got one more that required an emergency room visit…and since then I only get one every two or three years. Maybe you need to have another baby. 😉

Hope your migraine is history…for a good long while.

You poor thing. I suffered from terrible migraines all through my childhood and teen years but thankfully grew out of them. Every time I started seeing dots, I knew what was coming and was terrified. Hope you’re on the mend, Debra.

Sorry to hear about your migraine. I know how debilitating they can be and mine only usually last for a day or two… As for Thor, he’s hunky. I always have time for him.

Confession: I’ve never watched Dr Who and have never felt the need to. :-/

I have to admit that the fourth doctor was my favorite because I watched him in the ’70s when I was a kid. Oh, yes, I’ve been a Whovian for a long time. It took me a long time to watch the new series though, but I’m loving it–especially seeing Sarah make appearances. Cannot wait for the 50th anniversary show when many people come back–including Tennant! Off to go read about Thor now. 🙂

Yikes! I hope you’re feeling better now. Migraines are no fun. I’m so sorry you were feeling bad. At least you had the Doctor to keep you company. That’s not too shabby at all! Feel better my friend. Huge hugs and get-well wishes to you. Off now to read Thor’s latest adventure.
